Aurobindo has participated in Spectrum360’s annual “Fore the Kids” Golf Tournament for the past 5 years. Both as a participant and as a sponsor, Aurobindo has contributed over $20K to this organization to enable greater access and participation to children of diverse abilities.

Mission Statement:

“Spectrum360’s mission is to provide the highest quality educational and therapeutic programs for individuals with learning, language and social/emotional challenges to achieve their maximum potential as responsible adults in society; recognize and value the students’ unique abilities, learning styles and differences; and serve as a leader in promoting innovative educational programs.

Spectrum360 serves children and adults from more than 88 communities throughout Northern and Central New Jersey. It includes two non-profit special education schools approved by the New Jersey State Board of Education, serving children ranging in age from 3-21, and Independence360, serving adults on the autism spectrum age 21 and over. Individuals served represent diverse ethnic, racial and socio- economic backgrounds.”

Fore the Kids Golf Tournament:

“Spectrum360’s golf tournament is an essential component to the success of students and adults at Spectrum360. As you might know, the basic curricular expenses are funded by tuition, but some of the most valuable experiences our students and adults have at Spectrum360 are, by law, not funded by tuition.

Think back to your own experience growing up. What are some of your best memories…those things that you might identify to be real turning points for you as an independent individual, as a member of a team, as a friend? Were they in the classroom? I would venture to guess that they were as part of an extracurricular activity or even at a gathering of some of your friends.

Now imagine how those experiences might have been complicated by the challenges someone with autism faces…with social, communication and learning differences. Spectrum360 prioritizes making experiences like yours possible with the supports our students need to succeed fundraising for them. We estimate that total cost to be around 1 million dollars annually.

Last year’s golf tournament raised nearly $90,000 which is enough to fund the After School and Scouting programs for both Verona and Livingston campuses. Just think of the difference an after-school program can make for our students, who might need extra practice with social and recreational skills. YOU make that difference by participating in the Fore the Kids Golf Tournament.”
